We’ve all heard the expression, “the greatest thing since sliced bread.” But slicing bread without leaving a trail of crumbs can be a real challenge. Here are a few quick and easy tips to slice fresh baked bread like a pro:
Slicing Bread: Turn the loaf on its side so you can cut through the top and bottom simultaneously. This technique will help keep the slices even and intact because the crust on the side of the bread is typically thinner and easier to slice. It’s best to use a sharp and thin serrated knife, and don’t apply too much pressure as you slice. An electric knife also produces great results. Keep in mind that hot bread is softer, so it’s usually more difficult to slice.
